The main message: do not rely on Upwork as your only source of leads. The platform is overcrowded, expensive to compete on, and increasingly difficult for new freelancers to win on unless they already have strong skills, proof, and a real track record.
Yousaf also discusses why freelancers need to build their own demand through referrals, YouTube, podcasts, LinkedIn, community participation, and niche authority. Instead of fighting in a “red ocean” where everyone is bidding against each other, PPC freelancers should look for ways to create their own funnel and stand out as experts.
